Ben Lamm of Simply Interactive in Austin, watching twitter and the blogosphere over the first couple hours when we posted our blogs yesterday, was nice enough to make this for me. He's good people but I'm wondering if he realizes that Kong got it bad in the end. Real bad... You saw the end of the movie, didn't you Ben?
Here's to hoping I don't end up with the same fate. :-)
Seriously, It looks like local preDevCamp leaders are stepping up to the plate to take charge of their events. Dan Rumney, our preDevCamp cohort is fully in charge at the helm. @whurely and I will make sure he has all the support he needs from us to make the event as grand as he decides it should be.
Palm is now reaching out to independent developers with a different, more active tone. This is great news! Looks like everyone will come out a winner after all.
So everyone quit freaking out. :-)
If you are planning a local event and still want to do it...do it. Remember, our allegiance is to the community. It's to the independent developers. It's not and never has been to the brand or the corporation. We are here to support you in whatever way makes sense to you.
When creating these communities and events, we hope that our goals are in alignment with the brands and products we love. If not, we adjust and keep moving forward.
Now, move along people, nothing to see here...
