So you want to win $100,000.00?
I'm working with LashAllureMD.com on a product launch where we are hosting an online video
giveaway and giving away $100,000 to one winner. Interested in how we're going about it? I'll be posting several articles on our process throughout this giveaway and will produce a case study on the whole affair when we're done.
We are looking to be as inclusive as possible with this giveaway, so the rules on creating the video entry are really simple. We ask the contestants to tell us, in video form, what they will do with the money if they win the $100,000. That's pretty much it! We have a couple of other caveats such as, we'd like a mention a LashAllureMD.com in the video and we ask the contestant to tag and title the video in a certain way so we can easily find it, but that's about it. Easy-peasy!
The process for getting started just requires a couple steps. First, we ask potential participants to enter by signing up using the form on this page. This achieves a few of our goals. First, we generate traffic on the corporate/product site. Second, we are collecting basic demographic info for the client about their visitors via the form and website analytics. Lastly, and this is important since we're doing this for a new product launch, it's the fist time most of the participants have been exposed to the Lash Allure MD brand.
After the participants register, they receive an email with the details for entering the giveaway. A couple of the things we cover in the email are uploading video to YouTube and tips on how participants can encourage their family and friends on
twitter, facebook, hi5, bebo, and other social media sites to rate their
video and leave comments on it! This is important because each comment counts as one vote in the giveaway. Participants'
fans can "vote" by commenting on their video one time per day. So it's
important for the giveaway participant to remind their friends and family that they need to visit their YouTube video daily
and vote for them by leaving a comment on the video.
I am also working with
Howdini.com on the promotions for a
Halloween/Lady Gaga inspired video sweepstakes. The
Howdini sweepstakes has a different angle in that we are giving away awards to people who comment on the targeted video itself, not content producers. I'll post updates on
my blog as we work our way through these events over the next several weeks.
