branding Promotion Ideas On an iPod

The automatic feed feature inherent with podcasts are what makes podcasting a great method for ongoing contact with your audience.  Since it’s much easier to get your posts through a feed subscription than to visit the site, you’ll find more consistent audience members.  On top of that, transferring your message to your audience becomes much simpler and you might even find that you have more control over your reach.

For those reasons, promoting your brand via the iPod may be feasible and viable aspect of your marketing strategy.  What’s up and coming is that the iPod is now getting into automobiles.  as an option, you can add an apple iPod player into just about any vehicle of your choice – american or foreign!  It’s amazing to see what technology is doing and how this will eventually change radio.  Knowing that, how prepared are you to take advantage of podcasting?  Here are some simple branding ideas to incorporate into your podcasting.

  • You don’t have to take out a 5 minute ad.  You can simply incorporate your brand name and / or slogan at various intervals in your podcast recording (i.e. – the beginning and the end of your podcast).
  • additionally, your podcast can talk about related information about your product or service that you offer.  Talk about the benefits of that your product or service offers.  Talk about the industry you’re in.  This establishes credibility as a knowledgeable source – also one of the benefits of podcasting.
  • You can also provide some form of entertainment or other interactive experiences on your podcast.  Partner with another company and provide dual benefit to your subscriber.  For example, you might host your message with a complementing song artist.
  • You can string multiple podcasts from related sources.  Get partners in the same field to work on your podcasting project with you.
  • Get on someone else’s podcast.  Soliciting your brand or having yourself mentioned in someone else’s podcasts sets your credibility up as an industry leader.  Take advantage of any opportunities that come your way.

There are many opportunities for your branding promotion using a podcast.  The subscriber feature of RSS feeds makes for a more consistent audience base that can help you gain the branding recognition you desire.  Get creative and innovative about using podcasts and don’t be afraid to network or partner with others in your field to get something going!  Podcasts are a great way to enhance whatever you’ve already got going on.

an Effective Podcasting/Video blogging Strategy

Podcasting/Video blogging strategies can be an effective method to promote brand awareness.  Keep in touch with your consumers or at the very least, keep yourself at the forefront of their minds.  as a niche industry, podcasting/video blogging serves your targeted group of consumers and is also a great way to expand your “brand reach” even further.

by using the media channel of your choice, the way people consume entertainment and information will change especially with the release of the iPhone.  The iPhone “brings it” as far as phones go.  With features including video and music player as well as serving as a cell phone, apple’s iPhone opens the door to podcasting/video blogging.

Podcasting/Video blogging is basically broadcasting different types of media to a portable device like a cell phone.  Types of media include video and audio formats as well as text and image formats.  Using an RSS (really simple syndication) feed these types of media can be distributed to subscribers for just about any purpose you can think of.

a good start to getting your podcasting/video blogging strategy off the ground is to work on building your own niche audience.  This is called your community and it is this group of people who represent the true audience of your business.  You’ll need to get to know who they are.  What do they like?  What appeals to them?  You’ll also need to interact with them and develop a great business-consumer relationship.

an effective podcasting/video blogging branding strategy is one that produces the long term audience results.  Not only will you have an online presence but now, podcasting/video blogging makes your online presence portable and as a result, more convenient for your audience member.  Unlike viral video where it takes creativity and a focused ability to draw attention to a specific memory or emotion of an experience, the objective of podcasting/video blogging is to form a long-term relationship with your consumer.

Podcasting/Video blogging can also be an effective short term branding strategy, but if your audience is taking the time to subscribe to your feed, you might want to consider protecting that relationship a little more.  Your audience will want to get fed content that benefits and is relatable to their needs.  If they are bombarded by ads about your product or service, does that really help to grow and foster your relationship?

Creating an effective podcasting/video blogging strategy focuses on obtaining long-term results.  This is where you can’t short-cut the process of relationship development with your audience.

The Slacker Podcaster

Podcasts and Why They Fall away

My wife and I were making some headway into podcasting when we sort of just stopped. We had a fun little show called Radio Free babylon (which can be heard at The Media Swamp.)

The problem, at least in our case, was one of content. We mistakenly thought we could just sit down and let the conversation happen naturally. Then we’d keep the good stuff while editing out the bad. Throw on some music and - boom – another show in the can. We did all of 4 shows last year. Maybe "good stuff" is just too hard to come by for most podcasters.

Slacker I know we aren't the only ones. Plenty of other shows aren’t keeping up. (You know who you are.) Maybe it’s a time thing. Podcasts don’t make money yet. They just keep you branded. Who has time for branding when you’re concentrating on sales? Who has time for production that doesn’t yield measurable results?

I’m going to try something this weekend (Time Permitting!) I will jot down some topic ideas and so will my wife. We’ll come to the studio with an idea of what we want to talk about without actually scripting the show. Maybe that will move it along better. We’ll see.

RawVoice acquires the Tech Podcast Network

Todd Cochrane, CEO of RawVoice just announced the following news:
In March the affiliate owners of TechPodcasts.com agreed to an acquisition/merger with RawVoice. Today we re-launched the website utilizing the RawVoice Generator. While I have personally been involved with TPN since it’s formation the network has always been owned by the affiliates. Podcast Connect was the admin arm for the network paying out advertising revenues, server cost etc. Up to this point though the TPN team has been on it’s own. Today that is no longer the case. Many of the tenants of the original site will be maintained with members shows agreeing to produce child safe shows and membership on the site will not be automatic. We encourage any of you that were not members already, and have Technical shows to apply for membership please read the TOS carefully. This is a great opportunity to be part of a strong branded site. We will have more details of the deal on the RawVoice website later today and I will be releasing a special  podcast on the TPN blog.
Congrats on the acquisition Todd!

Jobburner.com Podcast coming

I just got back to the agency from interviewing Shane Henderson over at newly launched Jobburner.com. I was going to take the same time and interview Jason alexander or Rob Howard about the new version of Community Server but Shane kept talking about his fancy new site so we ran out of time. Thanks a lot Shane. Sheeesh. So...I'm still sitting on video from Tulsa Techfest, barcampTexas, barcamp Dallas, North Dallas .Net User Group and more interviews lined up next week. I really need to get the post-production down so I can knock this stuff out.

QuesoCompuestoTV in iTunes

QCTViTunesI just got the approval for QuesoCompuestoTV's listing in the iTunes Directory. It makes we wonder why apple is cool with the show's logo (an iPod slathered in cheese) but no t-shirt maker will print it for me because of I.P. concerns. Subscribe now!
